Kathleen Flenniken is the author of two poetry collections, Famous (University of Nebraska Press, 2006), named a Notable Book by the American Library Association, and Plume (University of Washington Press, 2012), a personal examination of the Hanford Nuclear Site and winner of the 2013 Washington State Book Award.
Kathleen teaches in Seattle public schools through arts agencies like Writers in the Schools and the Jack Straw Foundation, and publishes Washington State poets as an editor at Floating Bridge Press. As the 2012 – 2014 Washington State Poet Laureate, Kathleen Flenniken achieved her goal of bringing poetry programs to all 39 counties.
