Particles on the Wall
"Particle and wave shimmered over the river stone."
-Bill Witherup (1935-2009)

In honor of William Witherup, 1935-2009
Particles on the Wall is an interdisciplinary exhibit connecting science and art in exploring major themes of today's nuclear age. The exhibit recognizes the hazards of the world we live in today, and balances issues of threats to peace with hopes for peace.
Exhibit pieces will illuminate key events regarding the nuclear history and role of nuclear technology in Washington, current concerns with radioactive contamination, and the quest for peace. Given the magnitude of the topics, the tone of the exhibit will be one of restraint, subtle humor, and quiet commentary to best impart both the need for concern and an element of hope in the face of issues on war, peace, and the nuclear age that rest in our own back yards.
Particles on the Wall will incorporate diverse elements in framed wall pieces including Hanford history and memorabilia, science, poetry, and visual arts.
