Vitro Corporation of America was contracted by the US Atomic Energy Commission in 1952 to design and construct a new chemical plant facility in the 200 Area of Hanford. These facilities separated and decontaminated the uranium and plutonium for Hooker Electrochemical whose slugs were irradiated in the reactors at Hanford.
