Chemical Description


Calcium Phosphide (CP, Ca3P2) has the appearance of red-brown crystalline and has a melting point of 1600*C. Upon contact of water or acids, it releases phosphine which ignites spontaneously.

Uses


It is primarily used in making incendiary bombs, fireworks, or navel flares (because of its water resistant qualities).
