Overview

William Sanders was a Canadian pharmacist working in the late 19th Century who became well known for his production of medicinal herbs, as well as his work with numerous colleges and pharmaceutical societies. He would also go on to become intricately involved in Canadian agriculture. He and his two sons, Percy and Charles, developed a new strand of wheat. "Marquis wheat", it was named because it matured earlier than traditional strands, revolutionized wheat production throughout the world.
