The purpose of this section is to acknowledge the pioneers and progenitors of the field of toxicology and allied sciences. Because the concept of toxicology is traced to antiquity these primarily biographical snapshots offer insight into the personalities, controversies, and proposed, debated, and accepted theories of the profession.
