Steven Alan Seifert

Background



Steven A. Seifert, MD, FAACT, FACMT is a Professor, with tenure, at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and the Medical Director of the New Mexico Poison and Drug Information Center. Dr. Seifert received his B.S. with Honors and with Distinction from Cornell University and his M.D. from the University Of Cincinnati College Of Medicine. He is board-certified in Emergency Medicine and Medical Toxicology. Dr. Seifert has had a long-standing interest in the historical aspects of medical toxicology and has given several presentations to the Toxicological History Society of the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology. He has a very idiosyncratic collection of antique toxicology books and writings and has also contributed to the literature by publishing manuscripts on Richard Mead and the toxicology of the Sherlockian canon, among others, and by helping to create the toxicology history section of Clinical Toxicology.
