Causes


Most often, nicotine poison is the result of of its use as an [insecticide]. But more children are going to the emergency room every year with Nicotine poisoning as a result of eating cigarette's or cigarette buds. Nicotine is lethal at 60 mgs and one cigarette contains around 9 mgs, making one pack of cigarette's lethal (note: when a cigarette  is smoked, a smoker only receives around 1 mg of Nicotine therefore the lethality of the cigarettes is only if they are eaten). Consuming one cigarette is enough to make a child seriously ill.

Symptoms


Symptoms include:
vomiting and nausea, headaches, difficulty breathing, palpitations, stomach pains/cramps, seizures, weakness, and increased drooling.
