Juda Hirsch Quastel, referred to most often as "Harry" or simply "Q", was a British Canadian Biochemist who pioneered diverse research in numerous fields including neurochemistry, soil metabolism, cell metabolism, and Cancer. One of his myriad of accomplishments was his discovery of one of the first systematic or hormone Herbicides known as 2,4-D. Hormone Herbicides and 2,4-D were largely responsible for the subsequent worldwide use of Herbicides and 2,4-D remains the most widely used weed-killer in the world.
