Irene D. Hays is a Washington State native who has lived and worked as a teacher, writer, and education director in Idaho, Hawaii, Colorado, and California. She currently lives in the shrub-steppe grassland of Richland, Washington. Her poems have appeared in Fresh Ink, Wild Goose Poetry Review, Inspirit, Her Mark 2007, Penwood Review, In Our Own Words, and CALYX, among others.
