Overview
This page explains how to create a page on Toxipedia and become a contributor. Also see our Writers Guidelines and general information on Toxipedia. If you have any questions as you proceed, feel free to email Editor Maria M. Williams at mwilliams@toxipedia.org.
Creating a Page and Editing Guide
1) You must first register for the site and be signed in. After you are signed in to Toxipedia, a box will appear in the upper left hand area of the page that looks like this:
![]()
2) Click on the add page button. This brings up a blank screen that will soon become your page. The first rectangular blank is the topic line. It will initially will read "New Page" but you should add the title of your new page. The larger second blank which takes up the majority of the space will form the content of the page.
3) Creating your page is as easy as creating a Microsoft Word Document. See the User Guide for further instruction.
4) Once you have saved your page, it will be edited for both content and clarity, and will then enter the general populace of pages.
Saving Your Work and Author Pages
Saving
Saving your work is easy. Merely click on the "save" button at the top-right or bottom-right of the edit page. "Cancel" will ignore all edits.
Author Page
We ask that all authors create an author page to provide Toxipedia users with some background. To make your author page, follow the steps above, using your own name as the topic line. Feel free to upload a photograph if you wish.
