Codeine, or methylmorphine, is an opiate used for its [analgesic], [antitussive], and antidiarrheal properties. Codeine is one of the 24 different [alkaloids] found in Opium. Its concentration in Opium ranges from 0.3 - 3.0% and is synthesized from Morphine.
