Uses
Beta particles are sometimes used to treat certan forms of Cancer and as [tracers]. They are also used commercially in quality control scenerios to test the thickness of certain products. Because beta particles pass through certain thicknesses, they can be run through products to see the absorbtion rate and the corresponding thickness.
