The Institute of Neurotoxicology and Neurological Disorders (INND), a non-profit organization focused on research and education on toxic chemicals, was awarded a public participation grant in June of 2011. The goal of the grant is to provide community outreach to address potential health threats from emissions from large scale composting facilities in Western Washington. INND will do this by hosting several public meetings in the Marysville and Maple Valley area, two communities located near large-scale composting facilities. The creation of this website, Facts on Composting, is another way in which the organization will share pertinent research on health impacts of composting.
This product was funded through a grant from Washington State Department of Ecology. While these materials were reviewed for grant consistency, this does not necessarily constitute endorsement by the Department.
